What is a Gastroenterologist?
A gastroenterologist is a type of medical specialist that focuses on diseases of the digestive tract (the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, and colon) as well as the liver, pancreas, gallbladder, and most everything else inside the abdomen. Becoming a gastroenterologist requires an additional three years of training after completing an internship and residency program in internal medicine.

What makes Precision Digestive Care different from other gastroenterology practices?
Precision Digestive Care is a solo practice, meaning there is only one doctor at the practice. This ensures excellent continuity of care and allows Dr. Gandolfo the ability to build stronger relationships with his patients than would be otherwise possible in a large group. As an independent practice, we also have the unique ability to rapidly respond to meet the needs of our patients in an always-changing healthcare environment.

Do you take my insurance?
Precision Digestive Care accepts most commercial insurance plans and Medicare. However since insurance plans change from time to time, we will ask for your insurance information when we schedule your appointment.
We also offer reasonable cash rates.

What should I bring to my appointment with Dr. Gandolfo?
Please bring a photo ID, your insurance card, a list of your medications, any pertinent health information and/or test results, any questions that you have for the doctor, and your copay.

Where does Dr. Gandolfo do procedures?
Dr. Gandolfo performs endoscopy and colonoscopy procedures at his QUAD A-accredited procedure suite located in the Central Street office.

Does Dr. Gandololfo have privileges at a hospital?
No, Dr. Gandolfo does not maintain active privileges at a hospital. If you need a procedure in a hospital setting, Dr. Gandolfo will not be able to perform it. Common reasons for a patient to need a procedure done in the hospital may include any of the following: having a defibrillator, age greater than 85, morbid obesity with a BMI greater than 42, severe sleep apnea, or other major medical issues like severe heart disease, end-stage renal disease, advanced COPD, or cirrhosis.
