A gastroenterologist is a type of medical specialist that focuses on diseases of the digestive tract (the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, and colon) as well as the liver, pancreas, gallbladder, and most everything else inside the abdomen. Becoming a gastroenterologist requires an additional three years of training after completing an internship and residency program in internal medicine.
Precision Digestive Care is a solo practice, meaning there is only one doctor at the practice. This ensures excellent continuity of care and allows Dr. Gandolfo the ability to build stronger relationships with his patients than would be otherwise possible in a large group. As an independent practice, we also have the unique ability to rapidly respond to meet the needs of our patients in an always-changing healthcare environment.
Precision Digestive Care accepts most commercial insurance plans and Medicare. However since insurance plans change from time to time, we will ask for your insurance information when we schedule your appointment.
Please bring a photo ID, your insurance card, a list of your medications, any pertinent health information and/or test results, any questions that you have for the doctor, and your copay.
Dr. Gandolfo has privileges to see patients and perform procedures at Huntington Hospital. He also performs outpatient endoscopy and colonoscopy at the Digestive Health Center of Huntington, an ambulatory center located just steps away from his office on East Main Street.
Upper endoscopy is a procedure done to examine the esophagus, stomach, and first portion of the small intestine.
Colonoscopy is performed to examine the large intestine for polyps and other abnormalities.
Capsule endoscopy is a cutting-edge procedure used to visualize the entire small intestine using a small wireless camera which is swallowed.
Dr. Gandolfo may have recommended a special diet for your condition. Please select the appropriate diet plan for more information.
